Deputation by Gord Walter, President, Sherwood-Amber Glen Ratepayers Association requesting a truck ban and enforcement on Ninth Line from 16th Avenue to Highway 7, including the section south of Highway 7 to the 407. (See also Item 16.8) Received and referred to staff. COMMUNICATIONS [The following links open .pdf files of the Communications] 2. John D. Leach, Town Clerk / Director of Customer and Legislative Services, Town of Aurora, dated June 14, 2010, regarding 'Train Anti-Whistle in the Town of Aurora'. Received and referred to staff. 3. Kimberley Kitteringham, Town Clerk, Town of Markham, dated June 29, 2010, regarding 'Box Grove Collector Road and Temporary Closure of 14th Avenue'. Received and referred to staff. 4. 8. Petition forwarded by Regional Councillor's Heath and Landon containing 115 signatures from the Sherwood-Amber Glen Ratepayers Association requesting a truck ban and enforcement on Ninth Line from 16th Avenue to Highway 7, including the section south of Highway 7 to the 407. (A copy of the Petition is on file in the Regional Clerk's office.) Received and referred to staff. OTHER BUSINESS 9. Memo from Commissioner Llewellyn-Thomas and attached June 2010 Transit Ridership Statistics. Received. 10. Memo from Commissioner Llewellyn-Thomas and attached July 2010 Transit Ridership Statistics. Received. 11. Regional Councillor Spatafora requested that staff investigate and report back on the criteria and implications of designating Community Safety Zones in all school zones.
12. Regional Councillor Landon requested that staff investigate and report back on protected areas in the medians on four lane roads in locations where individuals may require longer time periods to cross the road. Regional Councillor Spatafora requested that staff investigate this issue from a broader policy perspective based on the number of roads in the Region currently being widened or planned for widening in the next few years. 13. Regional Councillor Frustaglio requested that staff continue to work with Wheel Trans to improve mobility services with the goal of an integrated, seamless mobility transit system for all residents in the Region. 14. Regional Chair Fisch expressed his thanks to Chair Emmerson, Vice Chair Frustaglio, previous Vice Chair Grossi, and all present and past members for their contributions to the Transportation Services and the Transportation and Works Committees and the many achievements over the last four years.
