Accessible Customer Service Training

Under the Accessibility Standards for Customer Service (Ontario Regulation 429/07) of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 (AODA), every person who provides direct service to the public, or interacts with the public, on behalf of York Region, must receive training about how to serve customers with disabilities. This includes volunteers, students and employees of the service provider.

Accessible Customer Service Training Video

York Region has developed an Accessible Customer Service Training video to help contractors and agents train those who require Accessible Customer Service Training.

Choose from the following options:

Non-Closed Captioned Version: Accessible Customer Service Training (Please note we are currently experiencing technical difficulties that cause a 30-second delay before the start of the video. To skip this delay, place the cursor on the video and move the time bar to the 30-second mark.)

Closed Captioned Version: Accessible Customer Service Training - Subtitles

Descriptive Audio Version: This version has a voice-over which describes what is happening in the video and has been produced for people with vision disabilities. This version is available for contractors on DVD by request.
