During this week, staff participated in a lunch and learn Know York Session where they received an update on the new standards being developed under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 (AODA).

The Region also released its new Accessible Meetings and Multiple Formats Guidelines for staff to use as tools when planning meetings and for producing information in more accessible formats.

The Region also developed a NAAW newsletter full of information about the many initiatives contained in Towards Accessibility: York Region's 2007 Accessibility Plan, as well as information and tips from the 2007 - 2010 York Region Accessibility Advisory Committee on how to provide superior customer service to persons with disabilities.
