Celebrating National Access Awareness Week - 2008

During this week, staff received an update on the new standards being developed under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 (AODA).

The Region also released the Accessible Meeting Resource list to accompany the Accessible Meetings and multiple format guidelines that was released last year for staff to use as tools when planning meetings and for producing information in more accessible formats.

The Region also developed a NAAW newsletter full of information about the many initiatives contained in Opening Doors: York Region's 2008 Accessibility Plan, as well as information and tips on how to provide superior customer service to persons with disabilities.
