During this week, staff participated in two Know York sessions at which guest speakers from Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) Speaker's Bureau talked about Living with Mental Illness and participants were updated on the development of standards under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 (AODA).
The Region also used this week to launch Access-ability: York Region's 2009 Accessibility Plan, and the new York Region Accessibility Advisory Committee Brochure, which describes the roles and responsibilities of this Committee as legislated by the Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2001 (ODA) and the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 (AODA).
