Pet Go-Bag

Have a plan of action for the care of your pets during an emergency. You may need to evacuate and relocate your animals. Planning ahead can significantly reduce the risk of death, suffering or disability of your animals, while also reducing your own stress and anxiety.

Note: Pets are NOT permitted at reception/evacuation centres in York Region. Working animals ARE permitted.

A Pet Go-Bag may include:

·         Identification

·         Medical records

·         Medications

·         Sturdy leash/harness/carrier

·         Current photo

·         Food/potable water

·         Bowls/can opener

·         Litter/pan

·         Veterinarian info

Since you may not be home when an evacuation order comes, find a trusted neighbour who would be willing to take your pets and meet you at a prearranged location.
