Screening Guidelines 

 

 

ONTARIO BREAST SCREENING PROGRAM GUIDELINES

 

 

 

All women

 

·         Be aware of any changes in your breasts; if you find changes go to your health care provider          

·         Annual physical breast exam by a trained health care provider

 

 

 

Women aged

40–49  and

over age 74

 

 

·         Be aware of any changes in your breasts; if you find changes go to your health care provider

·         Annual physical breast exam by a trained health care provider

·         Discuss need for a mammogram with your health care provider

 

Women aged

50 - 74

 

·         Be aware of any changes in your breasts; if you find changes go to your health care provider

·         Annual physical breast exam by a trained health care provider

·         Mammogram every two years or as often as recommended by

your health care provider
