The Ontario Breast Screening Program (OBSP) 

The Ontario Breast Screening Program (OBSP) is the province's breast screening program. Its mission is to reduce deaths from breast cancer by giving women access to high quality breast screening. The OBSP provides high quality mammography screening at more than 125 screening sites across the province. All sites are approved by the Canadian Association of Radiologists. The program continues to grow and has partnered with hospitals and private mammogram sites to offer breast screening.

Screening is free of charge for women with a valid Ontario Health Card. It is funded by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care. Women can be referred by their doctor or self refer

OBSP provides services to women who:

• Are an Ontario resident
• Aged 50 and over
• Have no previous history of breast cancer
• Have not had a mammogram within the past year
• Have no history of breast implants or removal of implants
• Have no acute breast symptoms
