Sun Safety

Nothing feels better than being outdoors with the warmth of the sun on your skin; however, what you do today may cause health problems that do not show up for years.

The effects of UV exposure are cumulative and increase over time. Exposure to UV radiation from the sun or artificial sources can increase the risk of developing:

·         skin cancer

·         wrinkling and premature aging of the skin

·         eye damage

·         weakened immune system

It is estimated 1 in 7 Canadians will develop skin cancer in their lifetime.

It is important to learn how to protect yourself and your family. Whether you are going to the beach, participating in outdoor activities, or working outdoors— make sun safety part of your daily routine.
