Health information for child care providers

Child care providers are entrusted with the important task of caring for our children.  This requires information, many skills and much dedication.  It also requires collaboration with parents and service agencies.

Parents, child care providers and the York Region Community and Health Services Department all have the same goal: to ensure that our children are well cared for in a safe and healthy environment.

Come Grow with Us provides two resources to assist child care providers in their role in achieving this goal.

  • The Come Grow with Us manual, 2011 Edition

…because the early years matter! The Importance of Early Identification
Approximately 1 in 4 Canadian children have a behaviour or learning problem when entering grade one. Early Identification means Early Intervention. The earlier a child's developmental concerns are identified, the earlier the intervention to support those concerns can be implemented.
