Prental Classes

Prenatal Education Program

The Prenatal Education Program is a series of 6-8 weekly evening classes or 3-4 weekend classes facilitated by a university prepared registered nurse for pregnant women and their partner/support person. Classes are offered at a variety of locations throughout York Region in English, Cantonese and Mandarin.

Topics include:

  • fetal development
  • physical and emotional changes in pregnancy
  • healthy lifestyle choices
  • communication
  • parenting skills
  • breastfeeding information
  • newborn care
  • labour and delivery
  • comfort measures during labour
  • adjusting to parenthood
  • community resources for new parents
The cost for prenatal classes is $42.00. To register for classes at one of our locations listed below, please contact Health Connection at 1-800-361-5653.
