Each year, a team of York Region health professionals award York Region's top school and workplace cafeterias for safe and healthy choices.  

Changes to the Eat Smart! Program in 2010:
Under direction from the Ministry of Health Promotion and the Nutrition Resource Centre, the Eat Smart! Ontario's Healthy Restaurant Program will discontinue at the end of 2009. Rather, beginning in 2010, the program will focus exclusively on school and workplace cafeterias.

York Region has been a proud participant of the Eat Smart! resturant program for over 14 years. Over this time, the program has encouraged safe food handling, healthy food choices and 100% smoke-free environments in eating establishments across York Region. York Region Community and Health Services would like to thank you for your support of Eat Smart! Ontario's Healthy Restaurant Program.
