Programs and Services Offered - Workplace

Healthy Eating: Raising Awareness

York Region Community and Health Services provide materials and activities aimed at raising employee awareness to help increase participation and interest in the Nutrition Works program. Building awareness also helps to expand employee knowledge around specific nutrition topics.

Awareness-Raising Activities:

Program Launch
Launch your nutrition program with an event. The event may include displays, posters, games and give-aways. An event brings attention to the details of the program and builds interest.

Pay Cheque Inserts
Capture the attention of your employees with ready-to-use pay cheque inserts. They can also be left in employees' mail boxes, posted on bulletin boards or sent electronically.

Posters
Deliver nutrition and health eating messages with signs and posters.

Nutrition E-bulletin
The Healthy Measures E-bulletin is a free bi-weekly e-message that provides brief health and nutrition information on a variety of topics, delicious recipes, and links to informative web sites, fact sheets and resources. In addition to encouraging employees to sign up for the e-blast messages, they can also be posted on the Intranet, published in the wellness newsletter, or posted on bulletin boards throughout the workplace.

Please see the Nutrition Works program menu for a listing of all workplace activities offered.

If you are interested in the Nutrition Works program, please complete the Nutrition Works Screening Tool to learn what action steps are needed for a successful nutrition program and determine your workplace's eligibility for the program.
