Public Health Inspectors with the York Region Health Services Department's Health Protection Division provide a wide variety of programs and services designed to protect the health of the residents in the Region. They ensure compliance with the Health Protection and Promotion Act, and its associated regulations through investigation and enforcement activities.
The Ontario Public Health Standards prepared by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care, outline the goals and objectives for each of the programs carried out by health units across Ontario. Services provided by the Health Protection Division are listed below.
