Daily Physical Activity (DPA)

Each elementary school in Ontario is required to provide students with 20 minutes of moderate to vigorous physical activity each day during instructional time. The Ontario Ministry of Education has created a policy for Daily Physical Activity (DPA), which can be found below.

  • Daily Physical Activity Resource Guides
    Ophea and the Ministry of Education worked together to develop the Daily Physical Activity Resource Guides (2005) for all teachers, principals and school board administrators.
      
  • DPA in your class from Physical and Health Education Canada (PHE Canada) 
     
  • DPA e-workshop
    Online resource developed for elementary teachers by the Ontario Ministry of Education and Télévision Francais de l'Ontario (TFO). It includes free resources, information about safety, inclusion and scheduling as well as printable and video activities that demonstrate how to implement DPA.
     
  • DPA Scheduling
    The Ontario Ministry of Education and Television Français de l'Ontario (TFO) DPA e-workshop has a section outlining planning and scheduling for DPA. There are sample schedules and a tool which will allow you to create your own schedule.
