Playground Safety

Playground falls and other injuries are a common cause of children needing treatment at the hospital emergency department. Injuries often occur when your child has learned a new developmental skill (e.g., climbing stairs, balancing).

It is extremely important to be aware of your child's growth stages and abilities when you decide which equipment is appropriate for them to play on in the playground.

Remember; always actively supervise your children at the playground!

Please see our: Kids Are Unpredictable. Injuries don't have to be. brochure, Stay a Step Ahead at the Playground brochure and the Health Protection Playground Safety brochure and game.
