The Injury Prevention Program aims to reduce the number of unintentional injuries and fatalities by increasing the awareness, knowledge, and skills of residents and employees in York Region by focusing on road safety, and childhood and recreational injuries. Unintentional injuries are a leading cause of hospitalization and death in Canada.  While these injuries are usually called "accidents," they often occur under conditions that could have been prevented.

The Seniors Program focuses on the health and well-being of older adults through the promotion and protection of health and the prevention of illness.

Health Professionals can access specific information on healthy aging and falls prevention among seniors, road safety and childhood and recreational injury to assist them in their practice.
