2008 Fall Networking Meeting Resources
The York Region Community and Health Services Department Workplace Wellness Program, in partnership with the Substance Abuse Prevention Team and with financial contribution from the Ontario Public Health Assoication, hosted an interactive networking meeting on September 26th to discuss "Reducing the Risks: Preventing and Managing Substance Use in the Workplace". Peter Williams, a guest speaker from Centre for Addiction and Mental Health, addressed a full house of Human Resource Professionals, Occupational Health Nurses, Health & Safety and Workplace Wellness Committee representatives from organizations across York Region. The networking meeting and educational workshop provided participants with the tools and resources to reduce safety risks, improve employee health and minimize liability in the workplace related to substance use.
