2011 Regional Cycling Map
The Regional Municipality of York has developed its first Regional cycling map, identifying Regional and local bicycle lanes, boulevard paths, signed bicycle routes, multi-use trails and paved road shoulders. It also provides descriptions of typical bicycle signs, rules of the road for cyclists and important safety tips.
This map is a joint effort between York Region, our nine local municipalities, the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority and the Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority. It was funded in part by the Ontario Ministry of Health Promotion and Sport.
Hard copies of the map are available at local municipal offices, libraries, Chambers of Commerce and community centres as of April, 2011, or by contacting Yvonne Kaczor in the York Region Planning and Development Services Department at 1-877-464-9675, extension 5051 or yvonne.kaczor@york.ca.

York Regional Forest Trails
York Regional Forest (YRF) trails are an amenity to be treasured by all users. Please be advised that trails vary from sandy or dirt paths to woody debris covered forest floor. Also please note that poison ivy is common within the YRF, particularly along trail edges. As such, appropriate footwear and long sleeved shirts and pants are recommended.
