Employment Growth

It is currently estimated that the Region is home to between 465,000 and 470,000 jobs. At the current population level of 983,100 the Region has produced enough jobs for close to 50% of its resident population. This is significant in that it represents the evolving nature of the Region from a bedroom community of Toronto, to an increasingly self-contained area.
