Development Application Supporting Studies
The Terms of Reference will guide the start of the development application process.
Once an applicant has consulted with local municipal staff and determined the initial submission requirements, standard Terms of Reference can be accessed below and utilized to ensure the required reports, studies and plans are prepared appropriately for a quality first submission.
The Terms of Reference documents will:
- Guide development application submissions to help eliminate errors and need for revisions
- Speed up processing by ensuring all parties are aligned on requirements
- Ensure municipal review requirements and expectations are clear and completed so quality information is submitted and applications are processed efficiently
Standard Terms of Reference have been prepared for the reports, studies and plans most commonly included as submission requirements by the Region and area municipalities for a development application. Municipalities will confirm if all criteria outlined in the Terms of Reference are appropriate for your development project and indicate if analysis of specific technical components are required.
