- York Region staff created, designed and built interactive displays and developed "hands-on" activities for children to learn about water treatment and water conservation.
- The presence of staff allows the students to ask questions and discover there are jobs that focus on saving and preserving the environment.
- A number of these activities are run by volunteer high school students who offered their services for the festival. This is highly encouraged as part of the Ontario high school curriculum.
