Public Outreach

  • The festival is a week long series of hands-on water conservation activities.
  • We had a great turnout this year with more than 1,000 Grade four students per day, for a total of 5,244 students touring the festival.
  • The majority of the displays and events were run by 571 York Region high school students and Regional employees who volunteer their services for the festival.
 At Our Greener Side parents and kids find out how our water systems work.
  • The assistance of more than 655 teachers and parent volunteers helped to ensure the supervision of the students and a smooth-running event.

  • Our Greener Side was a Region-wide event open to all residents, politicians and the media.
