York Region is made up of nine distinct municipalities – Aurora, East Gwillimbury, Georgina, King, Markham, Newmarket, Richmond Hill, Vaughan and Whitchurch-Stouffville – each with something exciting and different to offer.

From Steeles Avenue to the south shores of Lake Simcoe, York Region’s 1,756 square kilometres blends nine unique municipalities offering a myriad of multi-cultural town centres and the quaint charm of country settings.

York Region is truly the rising star of Ontario and one of the best kept travel secrets in the heart of the Greater Toronto Area.

aurora
The Town of Aurora is a quaint town
rich in history and culture, boasting acres of parkland, challenging golf courses, fine dining, theatre and wonderful community activities.

Just north of Newmarket is the Town of East Gwillimbury. This rural and historic-commercial area has plenty to offer. Be sure to visit the national historic site of the Sharon Temple, or visit one of the many farms open to the public in the area.

georgina
Reaching the south shore of Lake Simcoe, the Town of Georgina has something for every resident and visitor. Year-round fishing has earned Georgina the title of “Ice Fishing Capital of Canada” and Sibbald Point Provincial Park offers a host of outdoor activities.

Prize-winning thoroughbreds grazing on rolling hills, tree-lined waterways of the Oak Ridges Moraine, the unhurried pace of quaint villages and hamlets, lush vegetable fields of the Holland March – this is King Township.

The Town of Markham is an international community rich in culture and a unique blend of shopping, first-class dining, accommodations, conference centres and more.

At the centre of York Region lies the Town of Newmarket. The historical Main Street welcomes residents and visitors with an abundance of shopping, dining, outdoor cafes and the Elman W. Campbell Museum.

Located in the centre of the Greater Toronto Area, the Town of Richmond Hill has a rich history, great shopping and wonderful area attractions including David Dunlap Observatory, the Wave Pool and the scenic hills of the Oak Ridges Moraine.

vaughan
