York Regional Police proudly serves the community
through the efforts of our 1,229 officers and 422
civilian members whose dedication in 2006 resulted
in the achievement of a number of long-term goals
and the successful implementation of several innovative
and progressive policing programs. Our community
safety initiatives and our targeted outreach continue
to strengthen our vital community partnerships across
this diverse and growing region.
York Regional Police operates under four important
cornerstones: Community Focus, Operational Excellence,
Preferred Place of Employment and Superior Quality Service (COPS).

York Regional Police launched several new programs to address specific traffic concerns in 2006, including Operation ABC – Always Be Careful – targeting safety in school zones; Operation Improve, where officers educate drivers and enforce traffic laws in high-collision intersections; and Operation Stay Focused, reminding motorists the driver’s seat is no place to multi-task |

York Regional Police believes strongly in giving back to the community. Some of the events and charities supported include the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics, Iron Cops for Cancer, Toys for Tots, Jump on the Wagon and the Quiet Food Drive |
