Short Stay/Respite Programs

Short Stay/Respite Programs are designed to assist families who are presently caring for older adults by providing a place to bring their parent/family member that will meet their parent/family member needs on a short-term basis. Short Stay/Respite allows the family relief from the physical and psychological demands of providing care in the home. Short Stay programs offer relief to families/caregivers for convalescent care, palliative care, emergency crisis care, vacation and rest.

The Long Term Care & Seniors Branch offers Short Stay/Respite as part of the Facility Programs, Alternative Community Living Program (ACLP) and the Community Programs.

A private bedroom is available in an apartment setting at each location except Schomberg. The Schomberg ACLP site has one bed available on a limited basis - please inquire.
