Bounce Back and Thrive! (BBT)

Bounce Back and Thrive! (BBT) is a ten-week skills training course to teach parents and caregivers about coping with stress. Participants learn skills to help themselves and children feel less stressed and more hopeful about the future.

BBT teaches you to:

  • Help yourself and your child “bounce back” from everyday stresses and hard times
  • Relieve stress and calmly solve problems and conflicts
  • Help your child handle disappointment, anger and frustration
  • Help your child feel good about themselves, confident and hopeful about the future

The program includes hands-on activities, video clips of parents and children showing resilience-building strategies, group discussion and opportunities to practice stress-coping skills.

York Region Public Health offers both day and evening programs. Programs run once a week for ten weeks and sessions are two hours long.

Sessions are led by Registered Nurses working in Public Health and offered in English and Cantonese.
