Leslie Street, from Wellington Street to Mulock Drive and St. John’s Sideroad, from Bayview Avenue to Woodbine Avenue in the Town of Aurora, Town of Newmarket and Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville continue to experience significant growth in travel demand due to ongoing development.

To accommodate growth, York Region is widening and improving Leslie Street and St. John’s Sideroad. We recognize construction can be disruptive and are making every effort to minimize disruption to those living, working and travelling in the area, and keep all informed with regular updates. Thank you for your patience.

Temporary Road Closure on St. John’s Sideroad

To complete significant excavation and road work around the Leslie Street intersection, St. John’s Sideroad from Thomas Phillips Drive/William Graham Drive to Leslie Street and from Leslie Street to Woodbine Avenue is scheduled to be closed from Tuesday, April 18, 2017 to December 31, 2017.

Access to local traffic will be maintained on the closed sections of St. John’s Sideroad. Leslie Street will remain open through the St. John’s Sideroad intersection.

As with other road construction projects, some work may be rescheduled due to weather. York Region will provide advance notice whenever possible.
