York Region also received the Diversity Champion Award for the 2010 – 2012 PAIE Program for Internationally Trained Engineers and Geoscientists and the Champion in Diversity Award in appreciation of outstanding dedication and contribution to Toronto & Region Conservation’s 2008 – 2010 PAIE Program for Internationally Trained Environmental Engineers. These awards were given to associations and institutions that have been highly active in promoting the economic value of hiring foreign trained professionals to the business community.
