14-09 Declarations of Interest

14-10 Confirmation of Minutes
It was moved by Regional Councillor Li, seconded by Regional Councillor Spatafora that the Minutes of the Board of Directors of Housing York Inc. meeting of May 1, 2014 be confirmed, which was Carried.
14-11 Presentation
Kevin Travers, KPMG LLP, made a presentation regarding the audit of Housing York Inc.’s 2013 Financial Statements.
It was moved by Regional Councillor Rosati, seconded by Regional Councillor Taylor that the presentation be received, which was Carried.
14-12 2013 Financial Statements
A report of the General Manager and Treasurer dated May 29, 2014 was presented recommending that:
1. The attached draft 2013 Financial Statements and explanatory notes for Housing York Inc. (see Attachment 1) be approved by the Board and submitted to York Region, in its role as Service Manager and Shareholder of the Corporation.
2. The attached 2013 Annual Information Return for the Housing York Inc. Provincial Reform Program (see Attachment 2) be approved by the Board and submitted to York Region, in its role as Service Manager and Shareholder of the Corporation.
It was moved by Regional Councillor Rosati, seconded by Regional Councillor Taylor that the foregoing report be adopted, which was Carried.
14-13 Acquisition of Property Located at 64 Abell Avenue, City of Vaughan
A report of the General Manager dated May 29, 2014 was presented recommending that:
1. The Board of Directors authorize the acquisition of land and building at 64 Abell Avenue in the City of Vaughan by Housing York Inc. from The Regional Municipality of York, subject to Council approval and the consent of the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing.
2. The Board approve a request for the consent of the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing to the removal of 275 Woodbridge Ave and 64 Abell from the Housing Services Act, 2011.
3. The General Manager be authorized to execute all documents necessary to complete the acquisition, subject to prior review by the Corporation’s Solicitor.
It was moved by Regional Councillor Taylor, seconded by Regional Councillor Rosati that the foregoing report be adopted, which was Carried.
14-14 Smoke-Free Policy for Housing York Inc.
A report of the General Manager dated May 28, 2014 was presented recommending that:
1. The Board of Directors approve the proposed Smoke-Free Policy (Attachment 1).
It was moved by Regional Councillor Taylor, seconded by Regional Councillor Li that the foregoing report be adopted with a report back to the Board with an analysis for incentive options to encourage smoking cessasion for residents of Housing York Inc., which was Carried.
14-15 Other Business
The General Manager introduced Carlene Jackson, Director, Program Finance and Chief Financial Officer, and Nick Savino, Acting Director, Housing Operations.
On behalf of the Board of Directors, Regional Councillor Heath welcomed Ms Jackson and Mr. Savino to Housing York Inc.
There being no further business, the Board adjourned at 1:30 p.m.
