Pedestrian and Cycling Master Plan

The Pedestrian and Cycling Master Plan is a report that will guide York Region as it creates a broad cycling and pedestrian network. The network will include bike lanes, signed cycling routes, bike racks, lockers, sidewalks, off-road walking and cycling paths and multi-use trails. The plan also includes policies and programs that promote active transportation such as walking and cycling.

Lake to Lake Cycling Route and Walking Trail

A highlight of the Pedestrian and Cycling Master Plan is the construction of the Lake to Lake Cycling and Walking Trail. It is an on and off-road cycling route and walking trail that goes from Lake Simcoe at the northern edge of York Region through the City of Toronto to Lake Ontario in the south.
