Clinic Services
Appointments are required: To make an appointment at a York Region Sexual Health Clinic
Please call 1-800-361-5653 and a Public Health Nurse will assist you over the phone.
York Region’s Sexual Health Clinics provide the following services at no cost, in a non-judgmental and inclusive environment. A health card is not required. Clinic services include:
- Free condoms
- Pregnancy tests, counselling and referral
- Sexual health examinations
- Sexually transmitted infection (STI) testing and free treatment
- HIV testing (including anonymous HIV testing and Rapid HIV testing)
- HIV Pre-exposure prophylaxis (HIV PrEP) prescriptions
- Hepatitis A and B vaccination
- Gardasil 9 vaccination
- Mpox vaccination
- Harm reduction services (needle exchange, safer smoking supplies and Naloxone)
- Low-cost contraception
- Emergency contraception
- IUD insertions (clients 30 years of age and under or any age without OHIP)
- Pap testing (clients 30 years of age and under or any age without OHIP)
Services we do not offer
The sexual health clinics do not provide services for the conditions listed below. If you would like to be seen by a health professional for any of these services, please visit your primary care provider or a walk-in clinic. In the event of an emergency, please go to your nearest hospital emergency department.
- Treatment for urinary tract infections
- Cold sores on the mouth
- Blood testing for herpes
- Menopause symptoms
- Miscarriage aftercare
- Infertility testing, treatment and counselling
- Relationship counselling
- Prenatal care
Please note:
If you have a prescription on file with our sexual health clinics, you may purchase more at any time during opening hours. Plan B emergency contraception is available at our clinics, and can be purchased without a prescription at most pharmacies.
If this is an emergency, please contact your family physician, go to a walk-in clinic, or the nearest hospital emergency department.

All clinic locations offer free parking.
We ask that you do your best to attend scheduled appointments. We will offer to send you a text reminder for your appointment when you book your appointment.

Please call as soon as possible.
*All of our clinics are closed on Statutory holidays.
Test Results
If you have been tested at one of our clinics, your results should be available within seven to 10 days (for most tests).
We do not contact clients with negative test results and will only reach out if needed. If you do not hear from us, that means your results are negative and do not require follow-up.

Condom Distribution Program
The York Region Public Health, Sexual Health Clinics Condom Distribution Program provides condoms, lubricant and dental dams at no cost to eligible non-profit community organizations who provide services to priority populations at risk for adolescent pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections.
Eligible agencies must meet the following criteria to become a condom distribution partner agency:
- Non-profit
- Located within and serve clients in the Regional Municipality of York
- Provide direct service to clients from one or more of the following priority populations:
- Youth under the age of 25
- 2SLGBTQIA+ community
- Clients experiencing homelessness
- Individuals who use substances
- Other clients who are at increased risk for unintended pregnancy and/or STI’s
