York Region Paramedic Services Master Plan
On June 30, 2022, York Regional Council approved the York Region Paramedic Services Master Plan 2021 – 2031, a long-term plan identifying staffing, fleet and station resources, and key provincial reforms such as dispatch modernization needed to respond to future demands and meet legislative and Council-approved response time targets and ensure equitable response times regardless of which local municipality the 911 call originates. The plan replaces the York Region Emergency Medical Services 10-Year Resources and Facilities Master Plan approved by Council in September 2012.
York Region Paramedic Services provides emergency and non-emergency medical response, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Our team of skilled, smart and strong staff includes front-line paramedics, specialty teams and support staff.
As York Region’s population continues to grow and age, the demand for paramedic services is also projected to increase to more than 163,600 calls per year by 2031.
