York Region celebrates National Nurses Week
On behalf of York Regional Council and The Regional Municipality of York, it is my pleasure to recognize May 6 to 12, 2024, as National Nurses Week and acknowledge the profound impact nurses have on changing lives and shaping the future of health care.
Nurses are an integral part of our health care system, impacting the lives of patients through their expertise, care and unwavering compassion. This dedication contributes to positive changes in the health and well-being of our residents and leaves a lasting imprint on our communities.
Across York Region, thousands of women and men have dedicated their lives to the health and well-being of others, providing front-line care in hospitals, clinics, long-term care homes and through public health promotion and protection. These nurses stand at the forefront of health care delivery and innovation, driving advancements in treatments and patient care practices. Their commitment to learning and adapting paves the way for a future where health care is more accessible, efficient and patient-centred.
On behalf of York Region and our more than 1.2 million residents, I extend our greatest appreciation to York Region’s compassionate and caring nurses for the work they do to keep us all healthy and safe. Happy National Nurses Week and thank you for your commitment to our communities.
