Construction Update on York Durham Sewage System Forcemain Twinning Project
The Regional Municipality of York is working in the Town of Newmarket to restore the forcemain twinning work site at Queen Street and Charles Street. Construction of the new sewage forcemain and other major works is now complete. To restore the site area, we will plant more than 70 native trees and 20 shrubs. New seating and benches along with a new bike repair station are also being installed.
When: Throughout the month of May
What can you expect?
- Due to the nature of the restoration work, there will be some construction-related noise though every effort to minimize it will be made
- The work may be rescheduled due to weather or other conditions
- There is no impact to your water or wastewater services
Thank you for your patience during restoration. Visit york.ca/forcemaintwinning for more information about the Newmarket forcemain twinning project. This notice was issued on May 6, 2022.
