York Region Celebrates Family Day

On behalf of York Regional Council and The Regional Municipality of York, I am pleased to join residents across our communities in celebrating Family Day.

Family is at the heart of our communities, shaping who we are and providing the foundation of love, support and connection that enriches our lives. Family Day is a special time to pause from our busy schedules, reflect on these important relationships and create lasting memories with the people who matter most. Whether spending time with immediate family, chosen family or friends who feel like family, this day serves as a reminder of the importance of togetherness.

York Region offers a wealth of opportunities to make the most of this day. Our York Regional Forest provides the perfect backdrop for outdoor adventures, from snowshoeing and cross-country skiing to peaceful winter walks. Each of our nine cities and towns boasts vibrant community spaces, including outdoor skating rinks, recreation centres, cultural venues and local businesses that bring people together. It is also a great time to support the incredible restaurants, cafés and shops that make our communities so unique.

As we celebrate Family Day, I encourage everyone to take a break from the everyday, reconnect with loved ones and embrace all that York Region has to offer. Whether you are enjoying a quiet day at home or venturing out to explore, may this day be filled with warmth, joy and appreciation for those who bring meaning to our lives.
