Municipal Class Environmental Assessment Study of Kennedy Road from Steeles Avenue to Major Mackenzie Drive in the City of Markham
The Regional Municipality of York has completed a Schedule ‘C’ Class Environmental Assessment (EA) Study for Kennedy Road between Steeles Avenue and Major Mackenzie Drive in the City of Markham to identify improvements to accommodate the current and future transportation needs of pedestrians, cyclists, transit users and motorists.
York Region has prepared an Environmental Study Report (ESR) documenting the study process, consultation efforts and the recommended plan.
This Notice of Completion places the ESR on public record for a 30-day review period, beginning March 18, 2021. The ESR can be reviewed and downloaded from the Kennedy Road EA Project page.

If there are any outstanding concerns regarding potential adverse impacts to constitutionally protected Aboriginal and treaty rights, a person may request the Minister of Environment, Conservation and Parks to issue a Part II Order on those matters for this project. Requests should include the requester contact information and full name. Requests should specify what kind of order is being requested (request for conditions or a request for an individual/comprehensive environmental assessment), how an order may prevent, mitigate or remedy potential adverse impacts on Aboriginal and treaty rights, and any information in support of the statements in the request. This will ensure that the Ministry is able to efficiently begin reviewing the request. The Part II Order request must be provided in writing and received by the Minister at the address below no later than April 17, 2021.
