YRT service changes take effect Sunday, September 3, 2023
Newmarket – York Region Transit (YRT) service changes will take effect on Sunday, September 3, 2023. Schedule and route changes are made to meet changing customer demand.
Service changes effective Sunday, September 3, 2023 include:
- Three new routes are being introduced: 361 – Nashville Express (Vaughan); 404 – Markville Secondary School Special (Markham); 437 – St. Maximilian Kolbe School Special (Aurora)
- Other High School Special routes will be reinstated; schedules will be adjusted to meet school bell times
- Several YRT routes suspended in 2020 due to a decrease in ridership will be discontinued; resources, including buses and service hours, are being redistributed to other routes with growing traveller demand; all discontinued routes have existing transit options available to connect travellers
YRT Express fare change will take effect Tuesday, September 5, 2023
- The fare supplement of 50 cents on all Express routes will be removed; travellers will pay regular fare on all 300-series YRT routes
