The Regional Municipality of York honoured among Canada’s best employers by Forbes
The Regional Municipality of York has been named to the Forbes list of Canada’s Best Employers 2023 for the third consecutive year.
“On behalf of York Regional Council, York Region is honoured to be named one of Canada’s best employers,” said York Region Chairman and CEO Wayne Emmerson. “This award exemplifies an unwavering commitment to attract and develop talented individuals who support the needs of our rapidly growing and changing communities.”
York Region is the second ranking government employer in Canada and ranks 26th overall among 300 organizations.

Forbes and Statista selected Canada's Best Employers 2023 based on independent surveys of over 12,000 employees working part-time or fulltime for companies employing at least 500 people in Canada. The evaluation was based on direct and indirect recommendations from employees asked to rate their willingness to recommend their own employers to friends and family. Employee evaluations also included other employers in their respective industries that stood out either positively or negatively.
