Road work is underway along 16th Avenue and Kennedy Road in the City of Markham.
Duration: June 2024 to July 2024
Description
- To support growth and accommodate current and future transportation needs, intersection and road improvements are required along 16th Avenue and Kennedy Road
- Lanes are being reconfigured throughout the intersection
- Islands will be installed and paving will take place
- Traffic signals are being upgraded to meet Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability Act (AODA) requirements
- Work is expected to be complete in summer 2024
Impacts to residents and travellers
- Lane closures may be required during non-peak hours
- Signs will be in place to guide pedestrians and motorists
- Access will be maintained for pedestrians, transit vehicles and emergency services
- Entrances to residences and local businesses will be open
- Mail delivery and waste collection will not be affected
