Turning Lane Restrictions on 16th Avenue
York Region is rehabilitating a 1.5 km section of the York Durham Sewage System that runs on 16th Avenue from Mingay Avenue to west of Williamson Road in the City of Markham. The work includes installing a large temporary above ground sewage bypass pipe along the boulevard and sidewalk. The rehabilitation work on the sewer will begin when the bypass pipe is fully installed.
As part of the work, there is a temporary restriction for motorists on left turns and movements at the west exit / intersection at the 5970 – 5990 16th Avenue plaza.
Temporary Restrictions: May 20 to December 31, 2022, restriction on left turns and through traffic at the west exit / intersection at 5970 – 5990 16th Avenue
We understand the temporary restrictions are disruptive; thank you for your patience while we complete this vital work. Visit york.ca/waterconstruction for more information about the 16th Avenue Sewer Rehabilitation project and other water and wastewater construction projects.
Health and safety is the Region’s top priority. We continue to deliver essential services while staying current with all health and safety related information and complying with guidelines related to COVID-19 published by the Ontario government and York Region Public Health.
