Carrville Road east of Ayr Road
Transportation improvements prepare York Region to meet the needs of motorists, cyclists, pedestrians and transit users today and into the future. York Region is making improvements to Carrville Road east of Ayr Road.
Description:
Road improvements
- Improving retaining wall on the northeast corner of Carrville Road and Ayr Road
- Improving sidewalk along the north side of Carrville Road, east of Ayr Road
Duration:
Late November 2022 to Spring 2023
Impacts to travellers:
- Construction will occur on weekdays and Saturdays from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. with lane restrictions for westbound traffic between 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
- Westbound right turn lane from Carrville Road to Ayr Road will be closed for the duration of the project
- The sidewalk adjacent to the westbound lane will be closed along Carrville Road from Ayr Road east to the Wood’s Park trail entrance; pedestrians are advised to cross at the nearest crosswalk and use the sidewalk on the south side of Carrville Road
- Bus stop #1277 on Carrville Road east of Ayr Road will be relocated to Bus stop #1279 on Carrville Road west of Ayr Road
- The road will remain open to through traffic
- Access to homes and businesses will be maintained
As with all road construction projects, work may be rescheduled due to weather. York Region will provide advance notice where possible.
