Guide rail improvements on Leslie Street

York Region is improving the steel beam guide rail at various locations along Leslie Street in the Town of East Gwillimbury. Guide rails provide a barrier between the roadway and potentially hazardous situations. This work includes removing and replacing or repairing guide rails and will ensure they meet current standards while increasing safety for road users.

Duration: June 2026

Impacts to Travellers

• Work will occur Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
• The road will remain open to through traffic; however, temporary lane restrictions may be required to complete guide rail improvements.

As with all road construction projects, work may be rescheduled due to weather. York Region will provide advance notice where possible.
