Henderson Sewage Pumping Station Environmental Assessment and Open House
York Region is initiating a Schedule B Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (Class EA) study to determine the preferred approach to redirecting the wastewater flows from the Henderson Drive area in the Town of Aurora.
The area south of Henderson Drive, between Bathurst Street and Yonge Street, has been identified as the service area from where wastewater flows can be redirected, via a proposed sewage pumping station, to the existing sanitary sewer on Yonge Street.
The ability to redirect flows from the Henderson Drive area will be essential in maintaining normal operations at the Aurora Sewage Pumping Station (SPS) during high wastewater flows due to extreme weather events. The preferred solution will also help support wastewater servicing for the Town of Aurora.
