Henderson Sewage Pumping Station Environmental Assessment Notice of Completion
The Regional Municipality of York has completed a Schedule B Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (Class EA) Study to establish the preferred approach to redirect wastewater flows from the Henderson Drive area in the Town of Aurora.
York Region conducted environmental site and archaeological assessments, natural environment studies and land use reviews to determine a number of alternative solutions. The alternative solutions were evaluated against environmental, social, technical and economic criteria, and public feedback gathered from two open houses. As a result, the preferred solution includes construction of a gravity sanitary sewer along Henderson Drive and under the rail crossing, twin sanitary forcemains and a sewage pumping station located southeast of the rail line. The map shows the location of the preferred sewage pumping station site, the sewer and forcemain routes.

York Region intends to proceed with the detailed design and construction of this project following the completion of the Class EA.
