Mount Albert Road Rehabilitation

York Region is removing and replacing asphalt road surface on Mount Albert Road from 2nd Concession to Leslie Street. Traces of asbestos, used in asphalt mixes throughout the 1970s and 1980s, are present in the current asphalt on Mount Albert Road. While the risk of asbestos exposure is low, York Region’s contractor will take precautionary measures during asphalt removal. This project includes replacing culverts that allow water to flow freely under driveways. Residents will be contacted by the contractor before this work begins.

Duration: June to July 2026

Impacts to Travellers

• The road will remain open to through traffic; however, temporary lane closures are required Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
• Access to homes and businesses will be maintained
