Night Paving and Side Street Closures on Bathurst Street

York Region is widening and improving Bathurst Street from north of Highway 7 to Major Mackenzie Drive in the City of Vaughan and City of Richmond Hill to accommodate growth and provide more travel options. To minimize impacts to travellers and expedite the project, crews will be working at night and on weekends.

Paving on Bathurst Street between Rutherford Road and Lebovic Campus Drive will occur nightly from Monday, October 5, 2026 until Friday, October 9, 2026, from 7:30 p.m. to 5 a.m.

 Traffic Impacts

  • There will be no access to Bathurst Street from the following side streets while crews are working:
    • Lebovic Campus Drive
    • Marc Santi Boulevard
    • George Kirby Street
  • Lanes will be reduced at the intersection of Bathurst Street and Rutherford Road during paving
  • Bathurst Street will be open to traffic with lane restrictions
  • Access to homes, businesses and local properties will be maintained
  • Property owners may experience noise from crews and equipment
