Road Preservation Work on Ravenshoe Road, Concession 5 to Weir’s Sideroad
York Region is applying a road preservation treatment, called microsurfacing, to Ravenshoe Road, from Concession 5 to Weir’s Sideroad in the Town of Georgina. It is a common and cost-effective way to maintain roads with minor defects and extend the life of the road. The road surface can feel rougher and sound noisier after the treatment, but over time, the stones will settle and the surface will become quieter.
Duration: May to late June 2026
Impacts to Travellers
Microsurfacing will occur:
- Monday to Thursday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- Friday from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
- Saturday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- The road will remain open to through tra c; however, lanes will be reduced to one with tra c personnel directing vehicles
Access to homes and businesses will be maintained
