Vivian Road Rehabilitation
York Region is removing and replacing asphalt road surface on Vivian Road from Woodbine Avenue to Highway 48 in the Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville. The project includes repairing and replacing culverts that allow water to run freely under the road and driveways. A temporary road closure is required to accommodate a culvert replacement. Residents will be contacted by the contractor before work commences on driveways. Additional works includes installing guiderails that provide a barrier between the roadway and potentially hazardous situations, as well as cleaning roadside ditches.
Duration: June to September 2026
Impacts to Travellers
- Lane restrictions are required Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- A temporary road closure is required on Vivian Road east of Kennedy Road for one weekend in June to replace a culvert
- Traffic will not be able to travel through the culvert sites during the road closures
- Local traffic will be permitted on either side of the road closure to maintain access to driveways
- A formal notice of temporary road closure will be issued when closure dates are confirmed
- Access to homes and businesses will be maintained
