Yonge and Eagle Culvert
Yonge Street 100 metres north of Eagle Street in the Town of Newmarket
The Regional Municipality of York maintains the condition of Regional roads for motorists, cyclists, pedestrians and transit users. York Region is making improvements to a culvert on Yonge Street, north of Eagle Street in the Town of Newmarket.
Construction is anticipated to begin the week of July 26, 2021 and is expected to be completed in spring 2022.
Improvements include:
- Relining the culvert and extending its service life
- Installing a new pipe
Yonge Street will remain open to traffic throughout construction and access to residences and businesses will be maintained. However, to accommodate construction, temporary closures of the cycle lane on the west side of Yonge Street will be required. Safety is our number one priority; please slow down through construction areas.
This work may be rescheduled due to weather conditions or delays related to COVID-19 and Public Health guidelines. York Region will provide advance notice whenever possible. York Region will make every effort to minimize disruptions and we thank you for your patience and understanding.
